Welcome!
I’m Nimra — a writer, editor and higher education professional.
I obtained my MFA in Prose & Poetry from Northwestern University and my BA in English from Queens College, City University of New York. I spent a few years as a book publicist at Penguin Random House before pivoting to a role in higher education administration at Northwestern University.
I use my multifaceted professional and creative background to work with writers at all levels, and on an array of projects. I’ve worked with writers revising short pieces for publication, debut novelists with no formal writing background, and trainees preparing essays for advanced degree applications. Over the course of my professional and academic career, I’ve also maintained a creative practice for my own long-form writing projects.
I believe that creativity is a uniquely human trait, with each person possessing a distinct voice in their storytelling. In an increasingly mechanized world, preserving our authenticity is more important than ever. I help people cultivate their authentic voice while refining their technique.
Whether you’re looking for a long-term collaboration or simply a second pair of eyes, I’m here to support your vision, polish your craft and ensure that your writing is true to you.
I hope you’ll be in touch!
